Gamecube (no online play) Controls The dual analog control in the Fight Night series has met with great critical acclaim. Everything else in terms of features is even across the board, so the question of course is: do you want to take the fight online, or would you rather feel nostalgic and play a Nintendo Classic during the off-time from career mode. It should be no surprise by now that the Gamecube version is being shipped with absolutely no form of online play in a rather cool attempt at compensating for this missing feature, EA has included the old school, SNES classic Super Punch-Out!! as a bonus for Gamecube owners. Features Fight Night Round 2, it's about more than just punching people in the face now! Being able to hop online and smack around one of your trash-talking, belligerent buddies is an awesome proposition on Xbox and PS2, it's as easy as hooking up that fat network cable and sending a challenge via EA's messenger system.
For all of you lucky, multi-console owning pugilists out there, we're about to break it down and decide which version of this hotly anticipated title deserves the champ's belt. IGNPS2's resident heavy-bag trainer and boxing fan, Jeremy Dunham, says that Fight Night Round 2 is the finest boxing simulation every created, and branded the game with a fantastic score of 9/10.
None to date have managed to create as much of an accurate representation of the sport as EA's Fight Night Round 2. There have been countless attempts at conveying the lip-busting, kidney rupturing, skull fracturing realism of boxing in video game form.
